After some consideration I have to say Kirby. I couldn't see anyone else filling Mario's roles in all those games.

I'm not sure he is anymore. The Miis seem to have pretty much taken control of being the mascot.

Well, you could say they're co-mascotting Nintendo I guess. Anyway, it's rather obvious it would be the Miis (at least for this gen).

Wow that was incredibly creative! Did you just come up with those characters right off the top of your head? I would never have thought to associate Nintendo with Link of Pikachu, two of thier most easily recognizable characters! Fantastic.

Seriously though, I would choose Master Chief, or whoever the generic douche from Killzone 2 is. That would throw people for a loop, and maybe finally save Nintendo back from the apparent "crisis" they are currently facing.

Has to be Donkey Kong, i mean he was so close. It could very well have been a cute little ape trying to make his way to the top of the stage while an evil plumber hurled spanners at him.

Mario is the only mascot for Nintendo. If it wasn't for him and his success, we more than likely would have none of the others that you've all mentioned. But if I HAD to pick it would be Skeletor or Zac Efron.
