Forums - Gaming - Went to the Play concert last night

Has anyone else out there experienced Play?  http://www.play-symphony.com

It's basically a 2-hour video game concert with full orchestra, choir, and large-screen visual presentation (clips from the related game mixed with live feed of the orchestra and choir).

It's conducted by Arnie Roth who has many video-game-music composer friends on several continents, and who was involved in the original Halo music orchestration.

It was $40 per ticket for me and my son, but worth every penny.

I've seen them on YT

Still waiting for them to come....

From what the conductor was saying, some of the game-music composers show up for the concerts.  The one last night was in Dayton, Ohio, so I doubt we had any of them there, but they had scores and video clips from Zelda: Twilight Princess, Sonic the Hedgehog, Oblivion, Mario Brothers, Battlefield (I was impressed but have never played the game), Final Fantasy, Chronotrigger (no video clips unfortunately), Castlevania, etc.  It was very well done and a heck of a lot of fun.

Thanks for the info.

We wanted to buy one of the Play CDs, but the show sold out and so did the CDs... we were lucky to get seats at such a late date.

I will likely look into "Eminence Orchestra" as the music sounded phenomenal.

I'm interested, but I haven't had a chance to get to one yet. Maybe someday.
