I just read the in-depth preview of M.A.G. in the latest issue of Game Informer and it looks like it has the potential to be mind blowing. Considering the popularity of multiplayer combat games such as Call of Duty, this game could be a huge feather in Sony's cap if it is done right. Could this potentially sell a PS3 to all of those frag happy people who have only played games on the 360 up until now? I think this game looks like it could be incredibly tantalizing to the Halo crowd.
Again...this is assuming the game turns out to be good. It needs to be a fun all-around package, not just rely on the 256 player thing. The high player count needs to be what puts it over the top.

That crowd already belongs to Killzone 2.

No that crowd still belongs to Halo 3. The only real threat to the Halo 3 userbase is another Halo game on the Xbox 360, not some over-hyped PS3 game which is yet to prove itself.

I never thought KZ2 was a system seller that'll pull people from the 360 crowd, but I think it proved that it's a great game in it's own right...
Edit: Unless you're referring to MAG. Which in case my bad =P

Ya, I was talking about M.A.G. Its kinda silly to hype a game we know very little about.

Although we don't know how all the assets and features of the game will play out in practice, we at least know most of those features and assets. It's known that there is 256 players, there's 100+ (there's an exact number, I just forgot) weapons, a number of vehicles (don't know if it was numbered), huge maps, customizeable characters, a CO for both team and squad leaders that can all communicate with each other, etc.
What's unknown (as far as I know) are the mission types, variety of environments, and more detailed information on the known features. But, so far we know enough and almost as much as we can know before playing the actual game. All we need to do is watch gameplay footage, play demos, and read reviews.
But, I don't think it's silly to hype a game that has released the essential and most important features of itself. I love the name, as it fits it so perfectly and can explain everything about it instantly, it's simply a: Massive Action Game.
