In my belief it all comes down to whether PS3 has enough games to push the hardware and is attractively price..

Definitely lately PS3 has been doing much better with regards to the games.. each week around 4 - 5 games are present in Top 30. Last yr even the high profile games use to leave the Top 30 chart after the 3rd week.. now even the games like Demon Soul, Musou Orochi Z, Gundam are showing 'some' legs.. So it all come down to make it a little more attractively priced.

No chance of the ps3 "winning" 2009. It really depends if Japan is strong enough to support 2 consoles. The Wii will be back, see? Once MH3, WSR, WM+ etc. hit. Plus i think there's just as much chance of a Wii price cut as a ps3 one.

Not a chance, if Nintendo fall back behind Sony for too long then they'll unleash their own price cut and proceed to dominate again. Keep dreaming guys.

Over taking Wii in Japan is not going to happen anytime soon. Rather its almost impossible. With most analyst expecting PS3 to sell between 7 - 8 million lifetime i think Wii is already beyond PS3 reach..

No. There are no games until FFXIII now the stream of big titles has passed. PS3 can probably stay relatively high until after Golden Week on the Yakuza+RE+Mosou+FFXIII demo rush, but after that there's nothing and we see what that does to Wii. A pricecut without games will only lead to a short peak and (hopefully) a sustained plafond.

FFXIII will be the next big thing and by far the biggest PS3 will see in its life. But obviously Sony is not so stupid as to lower the price when the biggest game for its platform launches.
