Forums - General - Pastor Beaten And Tazed For Defending His Rights

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=95300

April 15, 2009. An Arizona pastor Tasered, bloodied by broken glass and sporting 11 stitches in his head, claims his injuries came from being stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint 75 miles inside the U.S. and then being battered by police for refusing to allow agents to search his vehicle.

The incident earlier this week highlights tension between constitutional rights, the issue of border security and a controversial Supreme Court ruling that grants an exceptional level of police authority near the Mexican border.

Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe claims he did nothing to deserve his eventual arrest and believes that when he refused to allow the search of his car he was simply standing up for his Fourth Amendment rights, which protect him against unreasonable search without a warrant.

Poor guy, they went a bit far at the border control. Have they been arrested for it?

But the fact that he is a pastor does not come into play to be honest. It wasn't and important factor.

he was given a lawfull direction refused to obey and suffered the consequences. looks like he now wants easy money from a lawsuit it is hard to feel sorry for this guy no problem if he had obeyed in the first place.

So he refused to allow the search of his car? What an ass, he can blame himself.

Allow the police to search your car.

...so it's okay to beat and taze someone if they simply refuse a search? What did he do to deserve the beating? Did they have probable cause? Normally you need these things to do a search people. I don't see beating someone as justified just for refusal for search...regardless of the current political situation.

don't taze me bro my son

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

Some of you seem to have no problem with the fact that if you refuse to obey a simple command, the authorities just might taze and beat the shit out of you, even when you're defenseless and not resisting...

I sense a lack of information here. How did it escalate from "no you can't search my car" to getting beaten and tazed?

1. Stand up for fourth amendment rights
2.??????
3.Get Beaten and tazed
4.PROFIT

Something is missing there. I'm not saying that they couldn't have just beaten and tazed him for the hell of it, but the story is short on info. Could be a very misleading piece in order to manipulate the readers views. That's not uncommon.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Both situations arn't uncommon.

"Victims" that hide what they did to make an officer beat them, and officers that beat victims just because they want to.

None of those should be surprising anymore.
