Forums - Sony - Six reasons why GOW III Will be Bloody Brilliant!

Killergran said:

Three reasons this topic irritates me.

1. I found God of War and God of War II were not fanatstic games. Good, somewhat fun and very brutal, yes. But not mindblowing, fantastic or even great. Not a single reason why this game would rise above its predecessors was given.

2. Please stop using acronyms in the topic. It makes me confused.

3. TEH GRAPHICS IS SO AMAZING YOU CAN SEE TEH INSIDES FALLING OUT WHEN YOU DISEMBOWEL SOMEONE is somewhat of an immature statement.

1) That's your opinion, I happen to think that they are two of the best games ever made.

2) The only acronyms were GoW (God of War) and HD (High Definition)

3) You'd think so, but no.

The most interesting new move is the ability to yank enemies towards you for further pummelling, or swing around larger foes to attack from the side or rear as seen in the centaur battle in the trailer.

[...]

It features newly-developed 'velcro-tear' tech that means Kratos will be able to realistically remove his enemies' internal organs (you can see them slop out) and even slice creatures completely in half.

When you're not tearing foes to pieces or disembowelling them, you'll be able to use them to your advantage. The trailer showed off Kratos' ability to ride a Cyclops, then use it to crush swathes of foot soldiers, and also his new way of jumping huge gaps by clinging onto Harpies and leaping between them.

In combat, he can grab enemies and carry them around on his shoulder for later mischief. Once snatched, standard baddos can be swung around as a weapon, employed as a meat-shield, or simply dashed against the nearest hard-surface.

[...]

In addition to flying, Kratos has also harnessed the ability to wall run, in a Prince of Persia style.

Sony have hinted that, if it works, the devs will combine the wall-running platforming sections with combat, making later puzzles in the game massively fiendish.

Awesome.

And with over a year of development left, you can be sure the really good stuff is still being kept secret.

Wtf.

This is the reason I bought a PS3 (and MGS4 ofcourse)

Wtf.

Well, there's still another 11 months of development, which is nearly a year...

I'm not very enthousiast with that game... but I like the first one so I'll give it a try...

So far, we don't know a lot about the gameplay right ?

If I remember well, it was announced at E3 last week during the Sony presentation ... with only a logo...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Why do people (presumably360/wii fanboys) hate God of War ? The same reason PS3 fanboys hate Halo. The games were bloody epic.

It was a dream come true for me,

I LOVE VIDEO GAMES

I LOVE GREEK MYTHOLOGY

Video Games + Greek Mythology = WIN !

I mean, it was EPIC !! I can't understand why people wouldn't like it AT ALL. Its the freaking best 3rd person hack'n slash series ever made ! Its the best SCE franchise ever, yes better than Gran Turismo! It may just eclispe MGS as my favourite franchise ever !

Dude....it's God of War. People pretty much know what to expect. Besides some tweaks and such, the core gameplay should still be God of War

Okay

I also love video games (particularly violent ones) and Greek mythology, which is why I love God of War.

As for the people who don't like it, it's not for everyone, this game. Not for the squeamish, certainly. It's not for the people who button mash their way through on Mortal and say "it was so easy!". Those people want to hate it, anyway. Let them. Who are we to say what people should like? I personally strongly dislike Street Fighter, which everyone else seems to love.

And I don't hate Halo, and if I did, it would be because of the lack of original story and overly run and gun attitude to things, not because I'm a PS3 fan. In fact, I like Halo very much, I just like Killzone 2 and CoD4 (and GoW3) more.

I said PS3 FANBOYS hate Halo, not FANs.
Its not for everyone, yeah but most people saying that they hate it don't own a PS3 and/or are 360 fanboys. I agree with you about the people playing it through in easy and saying it was a button masher. I'd like to see them do that in Titan mode.

I don't understand why we are talking about Halo in a GOW thread...
