So you're looking to buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360?, great! I will present to you 3 reasons why you should get an Xbox 360, Do not interpret these as factual, however if you are a gamer looking to buy a console these may be of some assistance:
Reason #1: price
It's an obvious one, the console is cheap to buy, which means if you're a gamer looking for games to play, and that's all...it's the more viable option, with prices as low as $199.99, if your bottom line is to play games, then this is a reason why the Xbox 360 is better than the PS3, although if you want those extra bells and whistles such as headphones, or a Hard Drive you'll be looking at shelling a lot more cash.
Reason #2: Xbox Live Marketplace
While both consoles feature their own versions of the 'marketplace', the 'XBL Marketplace' is the better of the two, not only is it easier and more straight forward to use, but it also packs more demos, and game content than it's competitor. Furthermore the XBL marketplace seems to get updates earlier than the PSN Store and indeed more frequently.
Reason #3: Larger Library of Games
Due to the early head start for Microsoft's Xbox 360, the library of games is bigger than what you will get on the PS3, you can argue all day about who has the more quality titles, but when it comes to quantity of game titles, the Xbox 360 definitely takes the cake, so once again if you are a gamer, and want to play games...surely a larger library of said games, gives the Xbox 360 a one-up over the PS3 as the gaming console of choice.
In conclusion if gaming is your passion, if playing games makes you smile gleefully then the Xbox 360 would be for you, simply because it is the cheaper of the two, gets updated frequently and contains a larger games cache than the PS3.

what an inaccurate report. The only point I will give you is the price, however what you are getting for the Playstation 3's price far out guns that of the X-box. But just because it is cheaper doesn't make it a better console as you have stated. If anything it makes it worse.
Xbox live you have to pay for, something I wouldn't want to be shelling out extra for. (after buying Hard drives, WiFi etc)
I don't think any gamer would want to play games for the sake of playing heaps of games and being able to say "ha i've played more games then you" Quality is key. But if you want to be able to say that you have played more (worse) games on Xbox than I play quality games on PS3, you can do that

Why is it that the PS3 version of this article has 5 reasons but this one only has 3?
I disagree with PRICE. Since I enjoy online gaming (like many others), I have to pay $50-60 a year... plus I already had to pay $100 for the Wifi connection. Therefore its been MORE expensive than a Ps3 wouldve been for me, and anyone else who plays online with Wifi connection.

To be honest, if you dont ALREADY have a 360... I dont think there's any reason to get one. You missed the GeoW 1 and 2 boat, or purposely missed it because they didnt interest you.
IMO Gears of War is the only must have on 360.

what kind of serious gamer would even want their gaming machine on Wi-Fi, I prefer wired connections for my videogame needs.
I'll give you a good reason
If you are wanting an offline videogame experience or one without HDTV the $199 Arcade model of the 360 wins hands down.
If you are a Movie Buff who also likes to play some games and want to test out the limits of that new HDTV the $399 PS3 wins hands down.
If you are wanting a more kid friendly experience the Wii is the true winner.
If you only care about HD and online gaming its virtually a tie. $299 xbox 360 vs $399 PS3.
things to think about are: Do you want a better online experience or a free online experience. Xbox 360 is Backward compatible with a hard drive, PS3 is no longer backward compatible unless you buy an older used system. 360 has a larger library (MS only has to support one platform). PS3 has more exclusive older franchise titles like MGS, Gran Turismo, God Of War) meanwhile 360 has exclusives like Halo 3 and Gears of War
Of course there's always the argument that the 360 costs more (HDD, wifi, xbox live). meh I see why the wii is so popular- people go crazy trying to figure out which to get and settle for the wii instead :o
1. Its only cheaper if you never plan to play online, and in the case of the arcade console, don't plan on upgrading your hard drive. After 2 years of live the $300 Xbox 360 pro is equal in price to the PS3.
2. Yes live is much better, but as its been stated a million times, its because they can afford to as they charge for Xbox live. If Playstation or Nintendo charged for online gaming then they would have a reason to quickly upgrade their service. For $50 XBL isn't THAT much better than PSN.
3. This is true right now, although PS3 is catching up quickly due to its massive first party.
these are valid reasons but price is really the only one that matters. As for xbox live i will totally pay for it. You get what you pay for. And what self respecting gamer uses WIFI?? Ethernet cables are much faster and better to use
