So you're looking to buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360?, great! I will present to you 5 reasons why you should get a PS3, Do not interpret these as factual, however if you are a gamer looking to buy a console these may be of some assistance:
Reason #1:Free Online Play
This is a great reason for anyone to get the PS3 over the Xbox 360, the online play is free, you are not restricted to only half the game unless you pay Microsoft $50, right off the bat you will have access to free online play as long as you have your Internet connection set up in your house or gaming space. When the cost of Microsoft's Xbox live is factored in to the price over the years, you might find the Xbox 360 is more expensive.
Reason #2:Blu-Ray
The PS3 uses the Blu-Ray disc format for games, allowing far more content on the game disc than the DVD9 used in the Xbox 360, giving developers more freedom to create impressive games. When it comes to movies, as mentioned earlier the PS3 comes with a Blu-Ray player, allowing you to watch the highest quality movies available, with a far better image quality than the DVD format.
Reason #3:Compatibility
Need headphones? you can use your PC or laptops headphones, need a PS3 Hard Drive upgrade? don't worry, grab any laptop 2.5 SATA Hard Drive and insert it into your PS3, Need a Web cam? Use any USB Web cam lying around. The PS3 has outstanding compatibility which can save the user much needed cash as you don't need to buy a specific "money-milking" brand.
Reason #4:Reliability
One of the most important reasons to buy any hardware product, the PS3 is the undisputed winner when it comes to lasting, I always say "PS3 hardware failure is like a unicorn, you can read about it, but you'll never see it" Simply because the console doesn't break down, with a 33% failure rate on the Xbox 360 there is quite a chance that you would get a defect soon.
Reason #5:Greater 1st Party Support
The Sony PS3 has a wider variety of 1st party exclusives of greater quality, more so than the Xbox 360, with studios like Guerrilla Games, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studios, Sucker Punch Productions, insomniac Games, Incognito Games...do I really need to go on? on the other hand the 1st party support for Microsoft's console is worrying to say the least. If you are a gamer, a greater selection of exclusive titles released and surely to be released by these studios and countless others should provide gamers with great exclusive games.
In conclusion, I would advise that if you have the money, get a PS3: it is by far the more future proof console of the two, has a greater selection of 1st party studios on offer, increased compatibility and better reliability.
