But isn´t waverace for GC the second game in the franchise?

It was the third. There was the original Gameboy game (which I still have) and Wave Race 64 before it.

I agree one of my favorite racing games of all time too, u just cant get tired of that game.
The first thing I thought of when you read the OP was Waverace but when i saw the part of third itteration it threw my off.

Wave Race: Blue Storm was the first console game I ever bought.
Good choice, it's still my favourite racing game.

Ahhh it wasn't that disappointing although it is pretty hard to follow F-Zero X which was very bad ass.

F Zero is the best racing game on Gamecube by lightyears. If that isn't the game you are talking about then you must be high.
