Forums - Nintendo - High profile Wii game bombing. Speculation of a Nintendo crash in Japan.

Lets talk about a real high profile game. Muramasa Demon Blade came in second place in this weeks Japan numbers. Nintendo could easily change the current situation of wii in Japan, and they will. Don't forget the wii still hasnt seen any price cuts, or colour changes. Wii sports resort, and monster hunter 3 are right around the corner. It'd be sweet if they bundled one of those games with wii or something. I'm sure that would really push systems.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

I'd hesitate to point to Muramasa as being a big-seller in any region, let alone Japan. Sure it did relatively well, but then this is the sequel to a game that only did alright on the PS2: don't expect Muramasa to go platinum anytime soon.

Yeah, it wont be a huge seller but it seems to be out doing expectations. I'm just saying that were ignoring the fact that a quality wii game was one of the highest sellers in japan in this weeks numbers, but the headline is that shovelware bombed.

Eh, the knives come out for Nintendo every single time the Wii shows any weakness whatsoever. The only thing surprising about this is that it took so long for an article like this to come out.

My thoughts exactly. People didn't see Nintendo's success coming, now they all want to be able to predict their sudden decline. Nintendo's pre E3 press conference will give us the answer to what state Nintendo is really in. The stats, sales, demographics and most importantly, games (whatever these might be) will be there. I'm sure Nintendo can last another month or two of 'low' or 'alarming' Wii sales.

Before: "RARGH shovelware sells too much! Nintendo is doomed!"

After: "RARGH shovelware isn't selling! Nintendo is doomed!"

Oh the irony.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

@ SlumsofOhio,
well i didn't know about Deca Sports 2 existence until this article - there was no announcement, screens, trailer or anything so it really is hard to call it high profile.

it's like those wii shovelware games that you can find only in some big shops with cheapest things that actually have one or two shelves dedicated to games in the back where people are usually taking dump cause there's no toilet or use it for sex/masturbation in public cause no one ever come there.

Deca Sports was pretty crap. 2.5 mil people were suckered into the first one, but smart enough to not make the mistake twice.

Don't be too hopeful just yet: it's only been one day.

Never even heard of it and it is high profile
