Forums - Nintendo - High profile Wii game bombing. Speculation of a Nintendo crash in Japan.

Deca Sports just shows that the Wii is already oversaturated with these types of games. Now, if Wii Sports Resort bombs (which I do think is a possibity if the blue ocean type of gamers think they don't really have any reason to pick up another Wii Sports title ), it will be huge news.

I doubt Wii Sports Resort will do bad in any way... If people don't automatically buy it because of the name 'Wii', it will do great by word of mouth.

I mean it is doubtful that Wii Sports Resort will do badly.  However, to live up to its predecessor it is going to have to sell 40 million copies, so half of that really wouldn't be matching the success of the first one.

I do think Wii Sports Resort is a test for the Wii because the blue ocean strategy is predicated upon the Wii offering games to attract people that normally wouldn't be interested in gaming.  However, with that since these people aren't the kind of people that usually frequent gaming sites or read gaming magazines that they could think, I already have Wii Sports, so I don't need to buy it again.  And they could get tired of buying games that have extra pieces of equiptment as one of their main selling points.

Now, it isn't likely to happen, but it could.  What if Wii Sports Resort doesn't pass Halo 3 in nonbundled form?

Heavens to Murgatoids.

If anything it's a Deca Sports crash as I still see Nintendo games in the top 10

Fact: Casual games are only high-profile when they flop.

This!

It just shows that there are too many games like that on the System in Japan.

I actually fully expect that someday (maybe by this Christmas) Wii Sports Resort and the WM+ will become the pack-ins for the console.  Nintendo will then sell the original Wii Sports separately for about $20.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

There's a buzz about a new model for the Wii-remote with the motion plus build it.

It's not bundled with Wii so that's a pretty silly statement to make.. Also it'll have competition from Grand Slam Tennis, Virtua Tennis and Tiger Woods 10 this time around.

Besides it'll have awesome legs and I'm sure it'll make 10 - 15 Million eventually.

Also they won't be buying a game with an accessory as the selling point. They'll be buying really fun game that wasn't possible before because it comes with an attachment. Not an attachment that comes with Wii Sports 2.

Anyway the next couple of months doesn't just have Wii Sports Resort..

- Monster Hunter G w/MH3 Demo

- EA Sports Active

- Arc Rise Fantasia

- Punch-Out!!

- Virtua Tennis 09

- Grand Slam Tennis

- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10

- The Conduit

- Wii Sports Resort

There will be smaller games such as Ghostbusters, Harry Potter and Excitebots that should help drive sales too..

Then expect some big announcements from Nintendo at E3 this year

Wii is doomed.

But war... war never changes

Wii has already almost doubled GC sales in America and Japan and almost quadrupled them in Others. 'Nuff said.

Edit: Oh, sorry, didn't notice it was a joke thread... ZOMFG! WII'S DOOMED!!!
