Forums - Microsoft - So the 360 begins picking up it's 2009 steam.....

Quite alot of threads lately have come about concerned for 360 console exclusives for 2009. As we come up to E3 ( where M$ has spent $$$$$$ to show off this year ) we already have a variety of genres and games starting to emerge. All have been stated as 2009. We just await for an exact release date. My guess is E3 2009 will see M$ lay quite a big gauntlet of game footage and release dates for the rest of the year to some very impressive looking games. Heres what I see as all but confirmed releases for this year.

Now I will not specualte and put here games that are not yet definately 2009. Games like Forza 3, Splinter Cell havent been out and out stated 2009 release. So until then these are games that look very promising and some gobsmacking. Personally N32 has come straight in and IMO when of the most ( keep my eye on games ) for 2009.

EDIT: I will add to the OP if you can prove a statement via a link to me that it's 2009. And by that I mean developer comment that it is. Not website propaganda.

Risen

Alan Wake

Halo 3 : ODST

Ninety Nine Nights 2

Magna Carta 2

Splinter Cell Convicton

Theres also Infernal: Hell's Vengance.. From what I've seen the early screenshots look awful

but I'm only gonna pick up a few of these titles anyway.. got like 30+ games that still need completing >.

Yup. 2009 is shaping up nicely to be the "Year of the Gamer".
I hope for Forza 3's sake they don't release it too close to GT5's date. Launching it sooner would be their best bet imo. Perhaps they're waiting for confirmation from PD as to GT5's lauch sched. before making a move?

edit: and perhaps PD's waiting for news from Forza 3's crew...maybe we'll never get news of either of them 0_0

^ I agree. It does look mediocre. I'm really only including the titles that look promising. Ones that could be good or great.

Um, the new Kingdom Under Fire? Been announced for a lot longer than NNN2 and Magna Carta, hasn't it? I'm almost sure it's supposed to be out this year, and it looks AMAZING.

Yes your right. But it hasnt been announced on which systems it will be available. It's only speculation at this point if it's 360 exclusive on consoles. ( Based on the series past history ).

And it's a 2 year old game as well.

I wouldn't say it's picking steam just yet, NNN2 is a welcome addition, but Magna Carta 2 looks horrible.

I personally like the 3d suedo anime/manga style art in Magna Carta 2. ( Thank god it isnt another realism clone ).

Also if the battle system is fixed from the first game it will be very good. Thats the only thing that dragged the first game down. And from what the feedback is the battle system is drastically better.

Well, for the sake of JRPG's this gen, I hope the game is good... and yes, the artstyle is pretty cool.

Supposedly Microsoft (Japan) is holding a press conference on Tuesday/Wednesday..

well just have to wait and see if this is true and if it's true.. will there be any new stuff...?
