Yes, most JRPG's (outside of FF's main franchise) tend to give off that feeling. I feel sick to my stomach when they tell me these people are 15 years old when they look like 23-25 year old male or female models.

what jrpgs have you been playing? they usually look as young if not younger than they're supposed to be IMO

The only young looking character i've actually played as was Tidus from the FFX series. Everyone else looked like they were in their early 20's. I'm not talking about chibi characters. The feeling that anime creators make older looking characters who actually are early to mid teens is not new. Have you ever seen the protagonist from Bleach?

Is that the yellow haired Cloud Strife wannabe ? What about him?

He looks like he's 20 and he says he's 15. I call bullshit! Theres also another kid (forgot his name) who is huge in the anime who looks 30 and he's also 15. How is a anime character to get a date within his age group without looking a pedophile?

I used to love jrpgs but now I'm not that intrested in them anymore. FFXIII and Versus XIII just doesn't get me that excited. I used to buy FF without even waiting for reviews, but after seeing the FFXIII demo I'll wait for the reviews before I buy it.

It's FF. no matter how much you hate it, I can promise you that the reviews will be AAA (>90%)

Good thing those FFs deserve all those scores and more!

And I'm shocked the difference isn't larger. How did WRPGs only get that much in a Western magazine in America?

Actually, JRPG's were the top RPG choice in the Americas by a mile last gen. Games like KOTOR were awesome, but were overshadowed by the landslide of great JRPG's. WRPG's are having the best of luck this gen.

There hasn't been one popular RPG this gen.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I will agree that Mass Effect was an awesome game but with a jrpg called Tales of Vesperia out this gen i won't agree that WRPGS are better then JRPGS. ToV to me is proof that there is still life in the JRPG genre and that it will one day reclaim it's crown. Valkyria Chronicles is proof as well.

WRPGs are selling like they have always sold.

JRPGs just haven't had a big hit yet.

Although I will bring a counter point to WRPGs doing well last gen. World of Warcraft.

WOW: frozen throne and Wrath of the Lich King? Mass Effect & Fable II? Maybe you mean there hasn't been one popular JRPG this gen. All of these games were hyped less than most JRPG's launched this gen

You notice what I'm talking about? At least I'm not alone in seeing it.

I dunno, I've seen a slight increase. By next gen WPRG's might average way higher than ever before. RPG's that aren't WOW are suffering at the hands of casual titles and FPS games this gen. To say WOW did good isn't a counterpoint to what i've been saying. If you want my honest opinion, Sony made it really hard for JRPG fans to buy a PS3 and thats why JRPG sales are slow. JRPG fans are split between the PS3, 360 and the Wii now.

You said JRPGs were the top choice by a mile last gen. They weren't as the highest selling one isn't a JRPG.
