Thread title should be "how the hell is PS3 almost keeping up with 360 at twice the price?"

Then it should also read:

"how is the PS3 losing by 30k per week to a console that sells most commonly at $300/$400, even with the more, "better" exclusives on PS3?"

Since about 45% of the 360's sales are arcade models.  The other 55% is Pro/Elite at $300/$400.  Could be closer to 50/50 now, but regardless, half of those sales are not the cheap $200 price point, so PS3 lovers can not ignore the higher priced SKU sales and think that it is always a $200 gap.

u cud brood over for having sold ur ps3 one day dood...well it's okay, maybe not if u've have sold it for same hefty price tag. Well i guess not.... u'll consider buying one again in the near future. All bets on!!

Translation please?

I'll never buy a PS3 again this generation.  I already bought a standalone player and I know I just do not have the free time to spare for multiple consoles after attempting to support all 3 originally.  I'm waiting till next gen before I buy another console... or perhaps sooner if MS releases a slim/new 360 model that I must have.

There you have it folks, Metacritic= God and the fact that the 360 costs more than the ps3 has no relevence on the gap between the two of them...in other news I'm getting tired of seeing the same old arguements on here.

I was hoping this place would have less fanboys on either side than Gamefaqs but it seems that's not the case, so I'm starting to fall out of love with this place.

The price argument gets old too. Sony released the console thinking they can get bluray buyers and gamers to buy it so it will outsell the 360. Clearly that hasn't happened. Plus Sony uses metacritic in their press releases so I dont know why ur getting upset. Sony acknowledges the 360 has a bigger quantity of better games. You should too

The point I was making is that there's too much chest pounding from either side, I miss the days when people cared more about the actual games and how good they are rather than which game has less pixels out of place or which console got more people to buy it, seriously? How does Sony only selling 5 consoles today affect the guy who already owns a console?

As long as Sony keeps making their games that's all people should care about.

Exactly why does a 360 selling 1million a second seem so much of an afrodisiac for so many people.

I can sorta get why MS and Sony chest pound about it but why does it matter to console owners?

If you only opt to buy a ps3 or 360 why does it matter how much the other is selling?

You bought your 360/ps3 now stick with it, if you don't like it, ditch it and go get the other or go read a book, don't start pounding your chest as if you've just found the secrets to life the universe and everything in it.

I understand this is a site focused on sales but seriously, the chest pounding and masterbation that goes on here is quite scary, I thought Gamefaqs was bad but this is something else.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

I sense a bit of condradiction here. Saying $200/$300 should be about 90% of X360 sales then

Plus there's a PS3 sku being sold at $500 so...

$200/300 most probably does account for about 90% of 360 sales.  But $300/400 are grouped together as the "non-cheap, actually has a hard drive, non gimped models" so that's why I grouped them this way and they still have the majority of sales.

Oh and that PS3 SKU was only a holiday bundle.  If you have $500 PS3's still floating around they must have really sold awfully at your retailer over the holidays.

The 360 barely outsells the ps3 despite the economic climate and being half the price /thread.

Someone made this exact same thread a couple days ago, look that one up mate.

Anyone know the final cost of Halo 3 with advertising and development? Pretty sure it was enough for pay for a couple first PS3 titles.

I seriously doubt that development and advertising costed more than "a couple" of the PS3 titles (including their advertising).

Maybe each individual PS3 title outright, but not any combination of the bigger ones (talking Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Uncharted, MGS4 and LBP here).

I could be wrong though, I don't have any information about development/advertising budgets for these games.

lol numonex unleashed.

come on dude, at least this time it's a copy/paste article and your opinion, i think...

FACT - Consumers DO NOT CARE if a console came out a year earlier - they just want the games and game quality!!!!

Do you think people refused to buy a ps2 because it came out a year before xbox?

History is your friend, it will spare you embarassment in the future.

I will say that coming out a year earlier is as much of a "feature" as free Wifi and Blu-Ray.  I say "feature" here, because the byproduct of doing that is (if handled correctly) a larger game library.
