X360 has only had 3 big exclusive* games (Halo 3, Gears of War 2 and Fable 2) in three and a half years. PS3 has had 15 big exclusive* titles that have not reduced the sales gap on X360.

*Exclusive to that system only and not on PC.

PS3 only has Gran Turismo 5 left as being a game that could change things a little but it will not be enough. God of War 3  will sell well but it is no system seller. Even a PS3 price cut in late 2009 could not turn around a 10 million+ sales deficit.

Third party support>> First party support.

360 has much better third party support than PS3. X360 gets more DLC than PS3 for multi-platform games. Multi-platform games sell much better on X360 than PS3 due to X360 larger install base in the western world. Last generation PS2 had all those extra third party exclusive titles that gave it the unbeatable edge over its competitor XBox and GameCube. Now the third party developers are putting  games on other platforms: XBox 360 and Wii due to the change in market shares from last generation. Strong third party support gives X360 edge over PS3.

Anyone know the final cost of Halo 3 with advertising and development? Pretty sure it was enough for pay for a couple first PS3 titles.

Not sure why MS fans are proud though, fewer games sell more.....they proud that they have less games to play as long as the games sell more. :/

LBP consisted of 37 employees, I doubt the development cost of that game came close to one like Fable 2. GeOW 2 I can say yes, that is a monster and only cost something like $18 million to make. Halo 3 was advertised like nothing I have seen before, easily enough to pay for the development of a game like Uncharted.

More games which sell less or less games which sell more with costs being close thanks to advertising? yeah.....no

It still made more money than 3, 4 or 5 first party exclusives by Sony (combined).  So the advertising must have worked well.  Maybe Sony should try and advertise a little.

FF will save sony in japan

Maybe Sony should advertise more, don't know don't care just so long as the first party development continues. Sony probably are making money on each game especially when games like Uncharted cost $20 million to develop.
