Forums - Gaming - Does anyone still resent Sony for stealing Nintendo's controller idea?

I remember last year Sony ridiculed Nintendo's Wiimote, calling it a gimmick. Then a few weeks later Sony modifies its controllers to have tilt sensors. They claimed they didn't steal Nintendo's idea. Yeah right. Sony has a history of stealing Nintendo's model for controllers (take a look at this website http://www.axess.com/twilight/console/ ).

Arrghh! @ Sony. Can't they come out with their own fresh ideas?

I know this is old news, but it still urks me. It's no wonder Nintendo is so secretive about their projects.

Idea(s)?

Analog stick and rumble also come to mind. Eh, welcome to the half-assed world of patenting.

This is not going to end well...

Well, you know what they say.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Something like that...

PS360 ftw!

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

Sony failed to duplicate the most important part of the Wiimote -- the infrared aiming functionality. This is far more important than shaking your sixaxis to get your damn dragon to turn around.

I hate sony lets make one of those daily I hate sony threads.

I don't care whether it's true or not...these debates are nearly a year and half dead. Believe what you want, the actual implementation of the Wiimote and SixAxis is what matters, so make your judgements that way. And that's it for this thread.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
