There's always a degree of bias, even when there's claims of not being biased at all.

I remember thinking EGM magazine was biased back when the Sega Saturn was out....and they were the first to put a Doom calendar on the DC...

Nah. I think I'm unbiased, and I bash/praise any and everything. I think it's more about having an honest opinion instead of a biased opinion.

There's no such thing as "unbiased" when it comes to people.

Even in a 'simple reporting of fact,' there are choices made in which facts to report and which to leave out, the structure of the writing/speaking/whatever, who to quote on which topics, and (hugely important) the word choice.

Instead, there are people whose biases you're aware of (sometimes it's just obvious; sometimes they state it upfront)... and those whose biases are more subtle and/or hidden.

Of those, I vastly prefer to hear from those whose biases I know--makes it easier to read between the lines.

Opinions cannot be unbiased.
So whoever claims that hes opinion is unbiased, is definitely biased.

i just feel like unbiased shouldn't mean you can't have a opinion or "favorite". It should simply mean you do not let the fact that something is your favorite cloud obvious facts of a situation.

It is very obvious in VGC that if you have a preference then your opinion cannot be counted.......which is stupid. Everyone does have a preference and I hate to see people try to play neutral when they know they do. This means saying crap like "Oh, I dont judge" or "I like them all the same". Bullshit!

Everyone should be able to prefer one over another. If someone questions it? They should be able to back it up with viable reasoning/facts. And THAT should not be qualified as biased.

An opinion is biased if you have a stake in that which you are offering you opinion on.

you can't be unbiased, I like people who will tell you their bias

ps. I have a fairly strong Nintendo Bias and prefer Sony over Microsoft - you can assume that whenever reading any of my posts.
