Now i don't think thats true at all.  I think Playstation owners are into FPS to a pretty good degree....i believe (don't quote me on this) that FPS is one of the most sold genres on the PS3.

Yep CoD 4 is the highest selling PS3 game....Which i think led to KZ2 lackluster sales( Dont  Bash me or call me troll..It's just the truth)....Halo 3 hit 3 mil or so in the first week....and CoD4 is a bench mark on 360....a Halo RTS was a very smart move and the results show it's great reception if anything...but my point was that CoD 4 and Halo both exploded on the 360...while the the FPS base on PS3 would have to drop CoD 4 and play KillZone 2...so in esence PS3 is just not that into FPS...Or just Don't want to play anything other CoD4....Rainbow Six is a good example as well...

Yeah thats a good point KZ2 is alot like COD4 and WAW so those games must have sucked the majority of gamers in, most probably didn't get KZ2 because it felt too much like COD4....still is selling quite well imo.

You must be smoking some DAMN good $hit!! KZ2 is nothing like COD4 or WAW. COD4 blew. WAW is better, but neither holds a candle to KZ2. Between the campaign and the online, KZ2 is just amazing. COD4 was crap in comparison. R1 and 2 were better than COD4. Its really a shame so many people get sucked in to these boring one dimensional games.

 

I'm not saying that COD4 IS like KZ2 i'm just stating that alot of PS3 owners probably thought it was too much like COD to justify buying it.

And what are you smoking?!?! COD4 better than WAW is just fucking laughable, i think your the first person i know to say that....as for me i liked COD4 single player, but the multiplayer was just boring imo, didn't like WAW at all...

You do know that those are only the NPD numbers right? And that Killzone 2 is outselling Halo Wars by 300,000 around the world? You are not winning anything. Whoever "we" are.

Halo Wars is not beating KZ2. That was just weeks sales not overall sales.

WHOA.....KillZone 2 has a way better Campaign and that mission mode in Multi player is interesting.....But COD4 has way more practical stages that KZ2...I mean really....the KZ2 maps in multi are big but cramped and messy....In my opinion...CoD4 was just easier to jump into....and Rainbow Six Trumps both in terms of level design (For the purpose of fun not Graphics)

Halo wars - MARCH - 639k = 639k
Killzone 2 - 2 days of February and March - 323k + 296k = 619k

So Halo Wars outsold Killzone 2 by 20k. Wow, thats a LOT.
However KZ2 outsold Halo Wars WORLDWIDE which is what matters.

Were here to morn the hype for Killzone 2. 

So many threads, so many gifs and pics. 

Yet it didn't push sales and most likely another casuality of the Wii fit Monster. 

Let us learn from this and never give a PS3 game this much hype ever again because in the end it'll never meet expectations and be outsold by a RTS or another third party game.

 

Good bye Killzone 2.

I think we can all agree that 600k in the first month is amazing for:

- A Console RTS (regardless of title, even a starcraft or warcraft labelled console RTS doing well would be a shock) doing well.

- A game who's predecessor was lacklustre and overhyped, managing to pull back many burned gamers from the first game.

On another note, a console RTS beating a console FPS in America is pretty amazing. (regardless of platform or franchise).
