The title of "the first 10$ console" will bring them back into the lead.

Gran turismo can beat Halo franchise anyday and i agree with you on the pricing.Even 299 price wud help them cause PS2's release price was 299 and it sold very well at that

I wouldn't be so sure about that this gen; however, that game is Sony's only shot.

legend of the dragoon remake. it may not bring SONY back on top but it would make me happy. :)

I think that the happy customer department is the one area which Sony cannot lose.  Why does anything else really matter?  The Sony camp is a beautiful place filled with majestic wonders and promises of an even brighter future.  Why throw that away by striving for something which IMO matters little?

Another one of these threads?

PS3 wont be back on top this gen. Wii will be first... anyone who cant see this is either dumb, or stupid.

Anyone who can't see that there is still about 7 years left in the PS3's lifecycle, "is either dumb, or stupid."

I don't know about any current franchises that could bring Sony "back." They needed something NEW, something BIG, and something EARLY. XBox had Halo (at launch), XBox360 had Gears of War (12 months), and Wii had Zelda/Mario (both within a year). Sony has nothing nearly as big as those games. Metal Gear Solid 4 is probably the closest to them, but that came out very late (18 months after PS3 release), and didn't do much to establish itself as a Sony franchise with all the XBox360 rumors flying around.

lol, the 10 year lifespan!!

Looks like someone believed that.
