Should have been there in the first place. It is not needed and is just another way of making more Yens flow into Ninty's acct in Tokyo.

I picked the lightsaber option--because Star Wars rocks!

It's going to cost $20. Not bad for what it's going to bring to gaming. But the wii mote is a work in progress. Just like the traditional controller has been through 20+ years of changing. Like they said, it was too expensive to have from the start. The funniest thing is the people saying that there is no difference. Talk about ignorance. Obviously these people haven't really used the wii mote. |
Like I've always said, I'm a future wii fan. At it's release and current state I don't see how it even compares to my ps3. But features like this really make the idea much more attractive. Now they just need to standardize this and build it right into the controllers. I feel that after this, the older wiiimote control is going to feel stale.
One major problem that I see with this is that some games are going to be using the features allowed by motion+. A necessary upgrade is pretty annoying. I don't know any other console that has ever done that, except maybe the 32X and we all know how that worked out.
Will consumers be into gaming enough to know that they should upgrade? I don't think so, but it won't really make a difference, they will just buy it when the gamestop etc employee tells them that a certain game they are planning to buy requires it. Like buying batteries for an electronic. Might decrease sales potential very slightly.

The N64 did it with the RAM pack, which was necessary for playing, amongst other games, Majora's Mask.

IIRC it wasn't necessary... just very useful.

Wrong. It is required for Donkey Kong and Majoras mask.

Show some tact. Elaborate on what it was required for and backup your opinion with facts or go away.

Majora's Mask was one of the rare games where the RAM pack was required simply to run.

You know, I feel really silly right now.
I somehow read RAM as Rumble and was struggling to remember why rumble would be required for those games.
