Forums - Gaming - Was FFXIII ever announced as exclusive?

I don't really understand why people care if an "exclusive" gets moved over to other platforms. It just results in more people playing the game and the company making more money.

Fans of games should like multi-platform releases. With a great audience and more money being made, the company can invest more in the game, and then more in the sequel and such. Really, unless there's a good reason (read: big fat cheque) to keeping something exclusive, it makes sense, and is better for gamers for any game to be multi-platform.

no........ff13 was never announced as a console exclusive, it had been deveoped for ps3 but no exclusive deal was made. hence it wasnt a true exclusive title. square have a legitimate right to bring he game over to another platform if they wanted to.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

FFXIII exclusive in Japan is where it REALLY matters.......

Think about it, SE must have said to Sony "360 version will easily do 3 million, we want the equivalent to keep the exclusive" and sony must have said "that's enough to make a couple first party games do how about you get lost and we pay you the equivalent of 200k 360 sales to keep it exclusive in Japan and we also take Versus."

Nomura + Kitase would have been the first ones to know, my guess is that they were there. Sony kept the game exclusive in the region it would sell the most and took Versus with the, as well as saving enough money to make a couple more first party games.

When money is an issue that's a smart way to go.

Voltrath50 your new here, little longer and you will understand that logic just does not work on gaming forums.

I believe FFXIII will sell a lot more than FF Versus XIII. FF Versus XIII would actually work much better on PC than PS3.

The non-exclusivity of FFXIII holds firm that Sony can no longer afford to money hat to hang onto third party exclusive rights. PS2 glory days are long gone.

I shudder at the thought of how much a financial burden PS3 has been on Sony. The weight of Blu-Ray, Cell development, developing PSN has cost Sony billions of dollars.

Making a third party title PS3 exclusive is basically kissing goodbye to 50 to 70% of profits that could be made by porting third party titles to either X360 or Wii or both.

numonex your trying too hard.

"FF Versus XIII would actually work much better on PC than PS3."

Why?

Darth you implying MGS4 was moneyhatted? I don't think that was the case which is why MGS5 will be multi-plat.

PC has a much larger user base and can easily support MMORPGs. World of Warcraft.

.....holy moly this site needs an ignore function, when did Versus become an MMORPG? I don't quite know what the situation is with you numonex but I get the idea you know exactly what Versus is but are acting dopey for some reason.

Versus is an MMORPG confirmed!! source is from MR.Numonex @ vgchartz.com
