I asked at Gamefaqs and people there seem to agree it's most likely Aran Ryan (minus the huge forehead).

He does look a bit different from Super Punch Out!!, but he has very similar hair, and the same colors for gloves and trunks.

I'm not sure who it is either... maybe Aran Ryan ? (green trunks, purple gloves, hair, but no huge forehead )

I guess this also tells us, Little Mac wears red gloves for the World Circuit (after Green in Minor, Blue in Major, and Yellow in Title Defense).

Looks like a new guy to me ... Interesting.

It's the second fight with Don Flamenco.  Or at least, that's what it looks like to me.

... But he looks nothing like Don Flamenco... ?

He generally looks like him.  His punch style is what made me mostly think it was him. 

 

 



Stop getting so excited about a Kid Icarus remake... the original NES Icarus sucked.
