According to Co-founder and Managing Director of Guerrilla Games Hermen Hulst, Killzone 2 will not be receiving co-op as downloadable content.

"We looked at all the different flavors of co-op early on, but decided our first priority would have to be the single-player experience and the multiplayer," Hulst informed Game Informer. "Rather than just tack on co-op, it would have to be integrated and done to a similar standard as the single and multiplayer."

"Having looked at it again now. I do not think we would want to add it as DLC," he said.

It appears that this is the final word on co-op for Killzone 2. For those looking forward to the new downloadable maps, Sony has confirmed the release date for April 30. The price point for the pack in currently unknown.

Reasonable on 15 April 2009

I would guess they've looked at the reception of the title so far and decided they can live without coop in the title. They made some 'maybe' comments previously, which made me think they were waiting to see how the game fared first.

It's a pity as coop is fun - but they did make it clear that the current engine/level design did not lend itself to coop technically nor had they balanced the gameplay to incorporate it.



Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

OT, I really don't see the need for co-op. I'd rather have more weapons for multiplayer

Puh Lease! They've just made a fantastic game taking nearly 4 years, it has the best graphics seen on a console, fantastic detail, a complete online mode and are bringing out 4 new maps. They deserve a rest :) OT - It was never coming Imo

It is not so hard to B_E_L_I_E_V_E considering the gear we have and the games we get.  I would much rather be proud and happy for something I have then jealous and sad about something I don't.

considering a future co-op dlc was one of the main reasons i ended up buying it, this is disappointing. i have a houseful of people trying to play it[the ps3], and also friends that come over to play it, so watching me play killzone 2 by myself usually isnt too fun for anyone else. nor is it fun sitting by yourself playing a video game, IMO.
