it wont do as well as mario kart because of the lack of brand image but like mario kart, pikmin 3, professor layton this is gunna be a bridge title which attracts core and casual in almost equal measure. i could it hitting 2 million before the end of the year, maybe even 3 million
nintendo fanboy, but the good kind
proud soldier of nintopia
I had definitely assumed the same, this was just one of those games they were pushing out there, and i figured this one was going to be running on pure nostalgia (that's why they made it very similar). 2-3 million, maybe, but nothing too special. But between the swag, the effort (a full disc), and now the apparent marketing push?
Now we can only see where it goes.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
I think it will be similar to Mario Strikers Charged. Prodcution value wise and sales wise.
| Brett said: It won't be as big as Mario Kart but i can see it doing 50k a week for a good while and should easily clear 5-6m. As others have said it will appeal both to core users who remember the original and also to the more casual crowd, especially if marketed well. Lack of major competition will also help. |
But you forget.. Facebreaker K.O. Party, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution, and Don King Boxing.
Pixel Art can be fun.

Like he said. A lack of major competition.

I suppose.. Nintendo fans =/= Boxing fans.
Pixel Art can be fun.
That's NoE, what about NoA? I believe they will also, but you never know.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
If you look at how many VC downloads of the nes version there have been, alongside a control scheme that will look similar to many like Wii Sports boxing, there is good reason to expect this to be huge - a lot bigger than Strikers, I would have thought; maybe up there with SMG and Brawl (eventually).
I believe this title is definitely a bridge title game that will attract the core fans, veteran fans (adults who played it a long time ago and stopped gaming up until now) and the new crowd just like Mario Kart Wii.
The only thing stopping this game from reaching the sales of Mario Kart Wii would be the fact that Mario isn't the referee.
But looking at the easy-to-look graphics, multiplayer, new players, old players returning, different modes, etc., you never know...
It sure looks fun to play, and if marketed right, could be at least 3 mil by the end of the year, and I'm thinking 8 mil two years from now.
