WTF? Lol, I never noticed he was banned!!!
I always thought Metagross was cheap because he has like....only the fire weakness (EDIT: forgot Ground as well), and he kicks so much ass.
All because of Sand Stream, eh?

Metagross can get hit by earth power of flamethrower, and tyranitar can also get hurt by earth power.
However, since Sandstream makes the special defense raise up like crazy (I forgot the %) and that he has a freaking 100 based special defense and 110 defense... Add in Rhyperior into your team with the ability to weaken super effective attacks against him as well as his high defense, you pretty much killed a lead Gyarados, and possibly wear down the bulky water pokemon or those special attackers, like Starmie, until they hit the red or yellow zone.
BTW, this is why I like my Swampert so much.

... Uhhh, what? I never heard that Sand Stream makes his special defence go up, and I can't find any info like that on Serebii.net.
Also, I didn't know that Rhyperior had such a badass ability! But cut him some slack, the poor guy is weak to about half of the types of attacks.... :P

That's true, Rhyperior does have a major type disadvantage.
Oh, and I think I might have gotten the sandstream ability mixed up. I know for sure it affects the special stats category in favor for rock/steel/ground types when it comes into play. And it doesn't really affect hugely, but significantly enough to determine what pokemon will win one to one. I think I sort of overexaggerated a bit there... :P I just hate it when rock pokemon will kill my gyarados (sometimes avoiding earthquake comes with a price) in the battle frontier and felt this was a time to vent a little hate to them.

... Holy ****ing shit. *hugs Tyranitar closely*
What other crazy weather bonuses don't I know about?!
Rain Dance makes water moves damage 1.5 times more and makes thunder always hit, right? Sunny day makes Solarbeam hit without charging, and makes fire type moves hurt 1.5 times more, right?
So what does Hail do?

I'm not sure if hail gives off any boost besides 1.5 times ice attack, I think, and the 100% accuracy of blizzard, like thunder for rain dance. It also increases the probability of a pokemon getting frozen. (But for some reason, my opponent's pokemon, if it even gets frozen, gets thawed out the next 2 turns....) A fire attack on the pokemon will thaw it out. I'm going to make sure this is correct, though. It also seems like pokemon with snow cloak ability get their evasion boosted 20% and blizzard can now break protect and detch 25% of the time. Pokemon with ice body ability get hp increase similar to leftovers 1/16th. That's why Abomasnowman gets a borderline labeled for smogon.
And I was right about sand stream. Damn, 150 special defense and 110 defense, eh? :P
I knew about the Blizzard thing... So it seems that sand stream is the only one that caught me off guard.
Wow.
My god Tyranitar is amazing. No wonder I love using him in every pokemon game I get!
Sand stroms also make ground moves 1.5 times more powerful, correct? Do they make rock or steel moves more powerful, too? Or just Ground?
I feel like such a pokenoob all of a sudden. =(

All right, it's getting late. I'm going to log out now. I need to get ahead on my school project
Nice talking to you wfz!

Don't feel bad about that. lol Everyone gets that feeling from Pokemon once in a while.
And the only stats change the ground, steel, and rock (so all of them get this) is the special defense. No attack boost, (thank god).
Okay, this will be my last post to you. :P
http://www.serebii.net/games/weather.shtml#hail <- this is where I'm getting all the info on the weather. You need to copy and paste.
Ah, thanks for clearing everything up! And you're right, it's getting really late. It's 11pm here and I have to wake up at 5:30 to get to class. Yuk.
Goodnight!
