I propose a (VGChartz Gamer Exchange Program), way to help out other gamers for wanted or hard to find items.

Much like Ebay, craigslist, amazon, but...

A Nonprofit, on a more user to user friend base system, only dealing with gaming related items, and ALL only on VGChartz.com.

You post about a game item your looking for (game, accessory, strategy guide, etc.) and other members that are part of the program either have the item, or just happen to come across the item in a store or garage sale of some kind and lets the person know they found the item.

If the item cost ($16.99 with shipping) the member looking for the item pays ($16.99 with shipping), there is no profit to be made on the exchange program, it's just a member helping out another member. The person looking for the item always pays for the Shipping (unless the member that found the item offers different)

We could add VG$ for items exchanged.

We can set the site up with paypal for the transactions.

Sounds like alot of work. Trading games with people you trust would be a better idea I think.

i can already see people trying to pull off some scams...

Not allot of work at all...

many people like myself don't really have friends in other states, countries, other then through online.

People on this site can be trusted, not to mention you have the persons address when mailing them the item.

Also not talking about sending other members $1,000 worth of items at once.

Your proposed system sounds like more work than we can put into it right now, particularly when a user-driven trading system on the forums would work nearly as well.

not a bad idea at all...

The only problem I could see with this is having the buyer saying they're looking for item X and after someone finds it and buys it for them they decide they don't actually want it anymore. I'm all for helping someone out, I just don't like the idea of being stuck with crap I bought for somebody else. :P

 Can we get a special forum set-up for it? Having one thread would making searching through it painful. I don't think adding another one would be terribly hard over all. We have at least one pretty dead forum already that could be converted.

We should have a donation forum, so we can help those less fortunate get a console
