And i happen to very much enjoy games like GT5, i haven't played GT5: Prologue, but i did play the hell out of Forza one and 2, and i found burnout paradise to be a very boring game.

So did i ...i stopped playing it like the first week....Racing games to me feels like it shares the madden fan base...which does not include me...atleast not anymore...and I do hope GT5 sells like crazy and 360 burns to ground so the world can return to the peace it had when Sega console were not mourned.....LOL......And then Halo 4 Comes out.....

We'll have to wait til GT5 is released to see, but me personally I don't believe that GT5 will outsell Halo 3.

360:

Total sales of racing games: 21.82 million
Total sales of FPS games: 43.09 million

Now you are probably saying, "Oh it's only 2-1. That's not a big deal". No folks. I said first person shooter. I did not include a single third person shooter in there, like Gears of War, Ghost Recon or Lost Planet.

Now for PS3:

Total sales of racing games: 16.18 million
Total sales of FPS games: 21.95 million

So even on the PS3, which should be predisposed to liking racing games more, FPS still wins out.

So then someone says "But Onyx, that's because of America. Things are different in Europe".

Others sales:

PS3:

Total racing sales: 8.37 million
Total FPS sales: 10.67 million

360:

Total racing sales: 8.71 million
Total FPS sales: 14.76 million

GT in Japan ranges from 1 - 3 million, if you think it can do anywhere near 3 million in Japan whent he userbase has just hit that number then Id like some of what you're smoking.

Not very well, I don't think anyway has claimed Halo has any presence in Japan though.

Basically

GT - Others (somewhat Japan)

Halo - America

 

Halo 3 will settle anywhere between 12 - 14 million by the end of this gen .. All people have to go on is GT5P and just because that did well doesn't mean the full game will sell 4X that.

The highest selling Halo game in PAL (Halo 3) did 2.55 million. The lowest selling GT game in PAL (GT2) did 3.7 million.
