Annually? Are you serious??? Why do I have to explain everything to SONY fanboys? Is releasing 3 games in 9 years annually?? Hasnt Gran turismo released more considering they sell demos too??? |
Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo OSD. Annually to me.

Do you understand what annually means? There's really little room for interpretation. For Halo to be an annual series, it would have had to release a game in 2008, which didn't happen.
I have a very strange feeling that GT5 wont sell more than 6 million. It's sad for the series but I really will be surprised if it does. The Playstation brand name has been seriously hurt this gen. People dont care as much. It's evident in the software sales.
However saying that, 6 million is still good for a 3rd place console. :)
What we could tell out of this thread, is that really, americans should take a look out of their country. Really, guys, travel.
They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts
I'm just curious, do some of you really believe that splitting things up into regions changes worldwide popularity? Not so much in the Halo 3 vs. GT5 sense, but lets say that Game A sells 6 million copies in NA, and 0 in Others + Japan. Game B, on the other hand, sells 1 million copies in NA, 1 million in Others and 1 million in Japan. Does Game B suddenly become more popular worldwide even though it sold half of Game A? I don't believe so. We're talking worldwide numbers here. I don't care what the regional breakdown is in these arguments, is one more popular than other worldwide or not? My point of view is that it doesn't matter if Game B sold in a more balanced manner worldwide, it still only sold half of Game A, thus Game A is more popular.
They're two different genre's how can a comparison be made?

Gran Turismo is bigger.
However, this is only because Gran Turismo hasn't had an installment this generation yet, so it is only fair to compare GT3 and Halo, and GT4 and Halo 2. Gran Turismo wins both times. Of course, this was on a userbase that finally ended up at 125 million. Although it is foolish to use simple division here- attach rate changes with userbase size- it is obvious that a Gran Turismo on PS3 will not sell GT3 levels, and in fact, not even GT4 levels.
I would predict 7.5-8 million sales lifetime, which is extremely good, for a PS3 title, but with a userbase advantage, Halo will be bigger than Gran Turismo.

How when Halo 3 released the userbase was less than the PS3 now.

Nice observation, didn't think of it that way, plus halo in general is just more well known ww, simple as that.
