i am watching new challenger too, i didnt even know there was a new season, i just found it by accident last week, i already watched the first 15 episodes, great show.
@Soriku
Yeah, but it's not just the order. It was also that as long as you didn't really look into it or anything, then you don't know how many episodes there are so you aren't completely sure where the ending is until it's all done.
just watched episode 2 of Eden of the East, it was good, i hope it stays this good throughout

Also, the day after Avatar came up, we had a presentation on Avatar in my anime class, and I brought up the "but it's not an anime!" debate, and every student, both professors, and the TA thought it was nuts and all agreed it's an anime. The lecture was on "the transnational qualities of anime." It seems that debate only exists on the internet, and not in academia. |
Yeah, I remember having that debate about Afro Samurai, and never getting a satisfying definitive answer. It's awesome to know that the intelligencia back me up. Speaking of Afro Samurai, check that out too. It's beautiful thanks to it's huge budget (>1 million an episode) and has an awesome soundtrack. Voice actors are amazing, also; that should be no surprise considering Samuel L. Jackson does the main character.

| Soriku said: naz watched Soul Eater? :o Eh...ending was really overly generic. What other animes have you watched naz? @Delta No, but I did watch it the out of order broadcast way anyway. |
I've watched well over 100 anime Soriku of all genres, and you are many years too young to be calling anything in anime generic. You haven't watched nearly enough to make such a claim. You have a lot of classics to catch up on before I'll accept any statement of quality from you.

besides that the ending wasn't generic at all.
How come you liked it naznatips?? I Thought the ending didn't fit Soul Eater at all. The whole series was about teamwork, but no Soul gets down in 1 blow sacrificing himself (something he wouldn't have to do because Maka somehow was strong enough the withstand the same blow). Then she smacks him with an courage fist on her own which was incredibly lame. I mean didn't Shinigami have courage when fighting him?? What about Kid and Blackstar while they were defending soul and Maka?? Then after she did it everybody suddenly was fine. All of it was just so incredibly cheesy I couldn't stand it.

It was cheesy, but it wasn't bad. It was a decent connection to the letter from her mother, and a nice "power" to counteract madness. I also liked the "it's just like madness" line. I'm not saying I loved it or anything. Soul Eater in general, while good, was hardly excellent compared to numerous other shonen.
@ Soriku I wouldn't ask your opinion on anime quality for the same reason I wouldn't ask a blind man about color theory or a deaf man his favorite song. I've talked to Khuutra. I know you refuse to watch anything before the current decade because of "old animation" and I know you don't watch anything outside of the generic action shonen that all kids watch. No, I'm not saying those are by default bad, but I'm saying that compared to me, you are "blind" and "deaf."
