Encouraged by 500,000 on HD platforms eh? So that accounts to ~300,000 on Wii? Hmmmm...

Sorry sir but I do not follow your logic :(

I want to make a safe assumtion about House of the Dead : Overkill; if 500,000 seem "encouraging" on a HD platform, that means an undeniably cheaper Wii game would require ~300,000, right?

@bbsin

PS3 is a HD platform right? Porting to the other twin can't add too much extra cost. Therefore, a Wii game that costs at least half that cost should require half the sales.

Now I got you ;)  Thanks!

Here! = Everywhere!

SEGA seems to be doin fine lately they said that sales of Yakuza , HotD and Madworld are all encouraging good to hear that one of my favourite companies is doing fine.

I hope they bring Yakuza 3 to the west, it looks like a cool game. And if i ever get a PS3 in the future i might pick it up.

Wow it seems like SEGA is trying to become the New Capcom. You know at one point and time there was hardly anyone that could mess with Capcom and the sheer amount of AAA quality titles they were able to churn out YOY.
SEGA had VC last year and now this year Yakuza 3, Bayonetta and End of Eternity

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

The architecture of the 360 and PS3 have been regarded as "very different" by many devs already. It's common knowledge that it's not simple or cheap to port titles inbetween the PS3/360. Anyways, that's beside the point, I was simply pointing out that Yakuza 3 sold 500,000 on ONE hd platform, not more.

As for your theory... I don't quite get it. Are you trying to say that Wii owners (aswell as devs) would spend their resources on low end ports of "HD" platform games for profit rather than make very profitable unique titles such as No More Heros and Madworld?

I don't think it's as clean cut as you believe sir, there's just too many variables. But on the other hand, if you're trying to say that Wii games are cheaper to develop and require less sales to profit than HD consoles, then I do agree with you.

I agree with much of what you wrote except it can be argued as to how "profitable" unique titles such as No More Heroes and Madworld are.

Sega is full of win on all platforms:

- Valkyria Chronicles

- Empire Total War

- Yakuza 3

- Madworld, Conduit, something else on Wii

- Alien Colonial Marine

- Bayonetta

- Alpha Protocol

- End of Eternity

In the end i might buy more sega games this year than from any other developer :D

I keep forgetting about Alpha Protocol. God, that looks so awesome.
