Excited none the less, my last encounter with space battles was Freelancer on PC, that was an awesome game.

A decent space shooter?
Count me in as long as it has an offline mode. To be honest, I don't think it'll have one though.
I'm a huge fan of Wing Commander, and like CAL4M1TY mentioned, Freelancer (I so hoped they'd make an expansion pack for that game, I really enjoyed it).
