Forums - Sony - ps2 or ps3?

I have an option of getting both. If I get a ps2 I can get it within the week, with about 4 games. (Shadow of the Colossus, MGS Collection, and Final Fantasy X, maybe XII too.)

On the other hand, I could get a 80Gb ps3, but I'll have to wait a couple months to save up money, and then I'll get on two games. Don't know wich ones...

If I get a ps2, I can get TONS of games with the money for a ps3, plus, the PS2 price just dropped price.  Is the 80GB ps3 backwards compatible witht he PS2?  Oh and, right now, I'm more interest in playing those epic PS2 games...

What do you guys think I should get? PS3 or PS2?

Thanks in advance! ^_^

Wait and get a PS3, however the current 80gb PS3 does not have bc, I suggest getting a PS3 with bc so you miss out on the epic PS2 games.

^_^

Which one is the BC one? 160GB one? Because only the 80 and 160gb are available as far as I know...

PS2. Cheaper, better game library, etc.

The current 80GB and 160GB can't play PS2 games.

No playstation 3 on the market at the moment can play PLAYSTATION 2 titles, but they can all play PLAYSTATION one titles.

You should be beaten, burned to ashes then someone should throw your ashes from a plane

CO3 get a PS3...THATS AN ORDER REMEMBER TRICO!!!

If it's the ps2 games that interest you, get a ps2.

All ps3s are compatible with ps1 games. However, the only ones compatible with ps2 games are: The launch 20gb/60gb(NA/EU) and the MGS4 80gb ps3. You can find lots of information about ps3 SKUs on wikipedia

Seems to me that if you buy the PS2 you will get a good load of software in return. Go PS2 since it's a cheaper price for you and also you can catch up on some amazing titles you haven't played yet! Just wait for the PS3 to get lower in price for you to easily purchase.
