Week over week the drop won't be noticeable.

However if you compare a 2009 week against the same week in 2008 it will be ( some weeks will be 50% lower in 2009).

I don't think you guys realize how huge Q2 2008 was for the Wii, especially in NA.

Apparently it wasn't as big as Q1 09 was. Even if there's a drop for Q2, it won't be anywhere near 50% (unless some weeks are really supply constrained).

I'd wait till next week before even thinking about this.... this thread is basically based on 2 weeks of numbers, hardly a trend.

If it is still below 300k with the coming weeks numbers then you could be right... but even that we still can't be sure until at least a month from now.

Did you even bother looking at the Wii ww sales for Q2 2008 week over week before answering ?

Actually not even a full week in terms of sales data... the latest available data is for the week ending the 4th of April.

I never anywhere argued that Q1 2009 was lower than Q1 2008.

I only said that do not expect for Q2 to do so well.

My feelings are not even based on the results so far.

I do not see a way the Wii will come anywhere near selling 740k unit in a week in Q2 2009 ( or 590k, or even 514k for the matter). And it did in  Q2 2008.

Heck if you look at the numbers ( which I did not base myself off) after 1 week, Q2 2009 is down 100k compared to Q2 2008.( and the beginning of Q2 2008 was weak compared to the later part).

PS : I will argue the week ending April 4th is Q2 (it has more than half of its days in Q2 !)

5094k in Q2 08 according to Oyvoyvoyv. That's an average of 390k per week.

This thread has only proved to me that the Wii was down 39k in one month compared to last year,in one territory.
