Forums - Nintendo - Not to be taken entirely serious but this is some bad timing on Nintendo

Today, Nintendo released via WiiWare "Party Fun Pirate"

Based on the popular Pop-Up Pirate toy,  players take turns thrusting swords into a barrel that holds your captain captive, trying to see who can insert the most swords into the barrel. Thrust a sword into the wrong hole and you'll send your captain flying, which means it's game over for you! ....

Anyone that hasn't heard, here's the link to the recent event of the captain of a shipping vessel being taken hostage by pirates and having his life in jeopardy.

And don't get all defensive. I thought it was more funny than anything. Just some strange timing.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

Around the Network

I already said that in another thread but i think it was intentional. Nintendo likes to poke fun at things like this

Yes nintendo are vindictive opportunistic BARSTARDS. Same reason why they delayed the release of Disaster DOC in japan.

Who would have thought pirates would follow terrorism, climate change and disaster capitalism?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Yeah, I'm sure they built and released a game in a few days to capitalize on this.

just ironic

It sounds more like perfect timing to me. Free publicity!

Now Nintendo can't catch a break for one single day...

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Only Nintendo can release games on wiiware. There are a lot of wii ware games finished, but Nintendo doesn't release them yet.
