Forums - General - Is Mario Kart Wii a socialist game?

Does Mario Kart have a hidden system that promotes a controversal idea? I have been playing Mario Kart Wii for about a year now, and have observed some hidden messages from the game:

  • The Item Boxes, or "the government" provide help for all of the racers on the course, some more then others.

  • The "government" tries to help those in farther places, or the "needy" by providing them free stuff that gets them ahead without any work, and/or hinders those near the front, or the "rich."

  • The "government" tries to keep everything even as much as they can, at whatever cost, no matter the skill difference between each racer.

So if my theory is correct, then every racer that has had a race lost due to the "government's" blue shell should be anti-socialist.

Yes.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Considering everything in that game was put there to maximize the fun level, so Nintendo could make more money, I am going to say no.

It has a socialist tendencies, but is not socialist. You occasionally get taxed more than you'd like, but if you are good enough you can still rise to the top.

Then what is the Time Trial 'Ghost Race'?

Fascism?
