didn't Nintendo say that 75 third party games for wii sold one million or over?

Anytime a company states "sales" figures it is ALWAYS shipped units.  They will never state consumer sell through unless they are quoting a 3rd party sales tracking firm such as NPD, Media Create or GfK/Chart Track.

But Iwata argued that the Wii has been great for third-party publishers. He noted that 75 non-Nintendo games from seven publishers have sold more than a million units on the Wii. He also said that non-Nintendo publishers have sold more than 90 percent of the downloadable WiiWare titles on the Wii.

Read my post above.

Consider who a company like Nintendo sells to.  Is it you and me or a retailer?   That is why "sold" when spoken by a manufacturer means "shipped" to us.

Nintendo never actually said that. It is almost certainly a misquoting. It makes no sense compared to the Nintendo-released numbers through December, which was something like 30 million-shippers.

Wait for their year-end financial report. They will include the total for first-party and third-party million-sellers (shippers) if they keep with pattern.

Wow Go 360!!!!

360 ~= Wii + PS3

Thats amazing really. Disappointing for SONY but amazing for MS. I remember last gen when the PS2 prolly had 3-4 times GC+Xbox. Even more prolly. not using VGchartz info as it is undertracked and missing info

I think that the bulk of the million sellers on one console do not appeal to me at all. Which is good, since I don't own the console. Judging by the software it sells, there never be a reason for me to buy that console. Why? Because those million sellers are the bulk of what you are going get on any specific platform.

If you take out all the remakes of the same game in the X360, you are left with like 10 different games. No wonder HD gamers are always asking for new IP's.
