Forums - Sony - Eternal Sonata confirmed for PS3

why do companies do that anyway?? i know they wanna maximize sales for each console but wouldnt a game sell more for each system if ps3 wii or 360 owners knew that game was coming for their respective systems.. instead of saying its exclusive then announcing it multiplatform as soon as one version is about to release... it seems to me only the AAA games are successful at doing that..

Im guessing there are some legal or business issues behind the scenes that cause this back and forth effect.

PS360 ftw!

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

I really don't think their is any doubting the Eternal Sonata thing since Namco themselves put it up there. I would be more skeptical about the Katamari game, but lets take Namco's word for it since they put it up their in the first place. My guess is that they have to be hush hush about it for a certain period of time or risk losing whatever kind of benefits MS is giving them.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

im guessing it might appear after release in NA for this, if not in a few months

or who knows maybe not possibly at all if MS pays enough

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

i think this is all a lot of speculating, and possibly just some sort of error on the site.  and the assassins creed thing wasnt 360, it was originally a ps3 exclusive that turned multiplatform.  it honestly wouldnt surprise me if it was a typo or some even some hacker or employee playing a prank.  the last 2 make sense considering the same thing just happened to beautiful katamari and once again was changed back to the original state.

They cry because they feel betrayed by the devs and publishers.

Why? Because now little Johnny down the block can play the same game as you?

It's really an idiotic line of thinking. I couldn't care less if an exclusive goes multi-plat or not... It doesn't affect my experience in one bit.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

I don't know, but it's getting really pathetic. When PS3 exclusives are being announced to become a 360 title as well, you hardly see the same hassle. Same story with Katamari, first it suppose to be a 360 exclusive, then it was going to the PS3 and WII as well, then... no... 360 only and now multi platform again? I'll bet within a few days we'll get to hear that Katamari is going to be 360 exclusive after all. STOP TEASING US!! Announce it officially or don't announce it at all!

*sigh*, sorry had to get it off my chest ;)

Edit: WHAT DO YOU KNOW??!! Don't have to wait for a few days, they've already changed it, Katamari 360 only!

Wow. Now im confused. Normally i would say this was just someone not realizing that the timed exclusivity deal meant they couldn't have it on the site and took it down. However for ES and even BK, i could also see Microsoft simply forking over the necessary cash to keep it

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

And... also Ace Combat 6!!!

It's funny that at one day Namco Bandai 360 (timed) exclusives are announced as multi platform and the other day its been pulled back again.

I'm sorry but this is really "pissing me off".

Edit:

It seems Famitsu has confirmed that Eternal Sonata will hit to the PS3.. I'm looking for serious hard proof in the form of a scan, but no luck so far:
