U ps3 fanboys need to let go of this dream. The only thing this post and that blog say is u sony fanboys are settling because theres nothing else left to do to make yourselves feel good.
How assimilated to the notion of thriving is the fact that maybe, HYPOTHETICALLY, the ps3 is on par in sales or a little ahead of a console whose predeccesor only sold about 27 million units? Additionally, the ps2 sold 130million+ in it's lifetime meaning the ps3 at it's launch enjoyed a massive install base ....which HAVEN'T translated into sales. The notion that the ps3, assuming these "factors" actually had the effect u ppl claim, only kept the ps3 from equaling or being just a couple million ahead of a console with such a small install base is fanboy dreams. The ps3 is failing because its underperforming, not just because the 360 is beating it.
Secondly the ps3 ate away at 360's sales in the first year because of sony's brand. Some people were holding out until the ps3 launched because of the name sony had built in the video game industry and refrained from buying a 360. But, that brand has been heavily damaged now and diminishes more and more everyday.
More solid proof is that the gap between the 360 and the ps3 has grown since the ps3's launch as opposed to shrinking. Furthermore, the gap actually closed a bit in the year the ps3 launched before growing gradually into what it is now. What does that mean? the ps3 was being carried by sony's brand but then people were a bit disappointed and changed teams, and people who hadnt yet joined the 7th generation opted for a 360 or wii instead. Not only does this render the points of that blog moot but it proves that the sony brand doesnt have the strength it once did.
Lastly, the 360 is exceeding the install base of the xbox, GUARANTEEING that the 360 has gained popularity since last gen, wether that popularity was stolen from sony or they just drew in gaming virgins isn't something that can be proven so we'll have to leave that argument for another day.
