What may well happen is that fans of GoW who haven't bothered with the PS3 may end up waiting for the much expected price drop instead. But if they happen to hit on or about at the same time... sales jumps can't be fully attributed to GoWIII.

Realistically, we'll see a decent bump in sales that will trail off over the following three weeks with the eventual crossover into holiday sales.

A fair comparison would be to take a look at the bump in sales for the PSP when Chains of Olympus was released. We should see similar or better results for GoWIII and the PS3.

The PS3 will be $300 when God of War III launches (how else do you think sales will increase 30%?).

I believe the PS2 was at $199 when God of War launched, or it might have been $179. Still lower, but not by that much.

My dear friend blaydcor, for the longest time I wondered the same thing. I still don't know the answer. But I do know that this game has casted some sort of spell upon gamers and non gamers. I always use the example of my older 32 year old brother (who is a doctor by the way)who has no history of gaming but suddenly turns into a 12 year old kid when the game is mentioned, let alone if he plays it. It something to do with Kratos being such a baddass that everyone can relate to I guess
My brothers game library consists of a PS2, GOW, and GOWII

exactly....we'll see a jump in hardware at the most 6 weeks and I think I am being generous with that estimation. In all liklihood it will last only two or three weeks

they spikes won't be ones where the PS3 beats the wii and 360 combined, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was 10 or 15 thousand above the 360 (in the US)
