The answer might surprise you.

That's right, the Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive, for those of you outside of the USA). It even says so right on the front. Yes, Sega was so proud of the Genesis being better than the NES that they actually branded the original model of the console with "HIGH DEFINITION GRAPHICS" for its US release. And this was back in 1989, mind you, well before the PS3 and XBOX 360 claimed to have "high definition graphics". Of course, not many would still call the Genesis' graphics "high definition" today, but back in 1989, it was a selling point in Sega's marketing campaigns, right next to that fancy "16-BIT" on the lower half of the cartridge slot area.
The moral of this little story is: be wary of corporate buzzwords and buzzterms, especially the recycled ones.
