No, but his special item is vines that sprout out of the ground behind him, as he moves VERY fast. He's a very fast character. You can't get through these vines, so an obvious technique that players use is to sprout vines all around Waluigi so nobody can get to him...thus giving him plenty of him to do a Megastrike.

Ben, I would love to play you when you get it. Though, I don't play much (I got it 3 days before MP3, so I didn't get much time...) so you will probably beat me lol.

I don't play much either. I haven't played for over a week...and I haven't clocked more than 10 hours I'm sure.

I caught on pretty quickly though...and once I buy it I'll get better as well.

Bah... counters to waluigi (for my friend and i at least) are bombs, bowser's flame, and picking him off from in front... or just saving all of his shots

And the juke/rollers with dry bones aren't that bad either. Again, if you keep em on the ground, you should be fine.

My friend and I play as Bowser - 2 monty moles and a boo. One of us serves as a line backer, knocking all of the opponent's characters on the ground, while the other one gets a clear spot and does a skill shot. On defense, we just knock everyone out so he has no one to pass to and then just pummel their character. We go about 3 wins for every 1 loss as of right now.

Really you have to use some sort of gimmick (skillshot, deke, or captain power) to score goals. Most of the characters have some method of scoring a guaranteed goal if the other team lets them get into position. The key is to not let your enemy get into position.

The idea is to put together a well balanced team with a variety of scoring options. I use Waluigi, Toad, Dry Bones, and Hammer Bro. That gives me three scoring dekes, two strong skillshots, a strong captain ability, two outstanding defenders, a playmaker and a power shooter. I try not to overuse any of these assets.

Even with a good team I still get my ass kicked most of the time though. Most of the time a defender creams me before I get anywhere near scoring position or if I get captain power I botch my set up for a megastrike.

Im still not good enough to use any really advanced techniques :(

Use DK + 3 toads (default) most of the time - and either rely on DK power shots, or jumping the keeper.

I don't think a lot of people play online here in Australia much. The league has dropped significantly since launch day.

...

Much of the game is preventing your opposition from getting into a good position, or having time to use the ball. Not that different from real sport ;)

^^ I only played about 6-8 matches online and always won with three hammer-brothers, if you have the right distance to the goal and smash the nearest defender before you land a power shot you are hard to stop :)

Three hammer bros.? Man...they're just so slow...

Shams, do you have much success with jumping? That's always struck me as the hardest maneuver around the goalie.

The three hammer bros one sounds interesting. Their shooting/passing works well but man... as Ben said, they get frustrating with their speed.
