I say if they don't drop the price in a few months, then they might hit a problem... But at the same time MS will counter Sony's Price Cut, so it might not even matter...

I agree with the first part, but not with the last. PS3 doesnt need to be cheaper than MS, just affordable. All the people waiting to get a 300 dollar PS3 will get it regardless if MS reduces the price of the already dirt cheap 360

lol you think MS can do a 100 cut now, 4 years into its like they will drop th eprice to 100 ? are you nuts. MS is in no positiuon to match A potential PS3 price cut.
Maybe a $30/50 cut depending on model, but not a outright counter. |
lol...lmfao...haha...MWHAHAHAHHA.....
last I checked, I never typed $100 Price cut.. nor was $100 price cut in the OP or the article...
MS counter to PS3 Price Cut doesn't mean dollar for dollar.. it can mean added games to a bundle (Halo3/Fable2 Elite), adding a HD to arcade and keeping the $199.99 price, and even lowing the price $50.00 for Pro and Elite to boot.. would be a counter.
To add... MS is in every position to match a PS3 price cut...

What's that, MS going to give 360's free with a happy meal? A price cut will not do for the 360 when the PS3 is at $300, I am interested to know what you think they could do next.

While a price drop was announced to coincide with the company’s new Fiscal Year, it was for the PS2, which was both inevitable and disappointing. Gamers, journalists, and analysts alike are all clamoring for Sony to make a fairly major price drop for the PlayStation 3. It’s still by far the most expensive console on the market and has been lagging behind in sales with the cheaper Wii and Xbox 360 moving more product. With the economy still down globally, slashing prices is the best way to ensure more sales for your product. While I absolutely love my PS3, I believe the longer Sony waits to announce and implement this much needed and overdue price drop, the more they’re going to lose out on sales. People cannot afford purchasing multiple consoles in this economy and will pick up a cheaper product if needed. So, Sony, when will see a cheaper PS3? http://loot-ninja.com/2009/04/11/sonys-fiscal-year-is-over-where-is-the-ps3-price-cut/

so, the fiscal year has ended, and because sony said that it wouldn't happen this fiscal year, it HAS to happen the second that year ends? Nice reasoning... I hope the people at loot ninja don't have a job at a major company...
,is funny , some people think that the problems of ps3 is only the price,..
wake up....

''Halo reach''.. sell 7.m first week ,Believe¡¡¡¡¡¡

Microsoft's Last Stand: Buy the Playstation line
Confirmed!
I'd say we should wait until E3, maybe even until fall. In fact, it depends a lot on how they perform; with these losses they don't want to cut the price before they actually have to, and now they are doing pretty good - even if it's the worst. Still, they're not too far behind 360 and that's just fine for Sony. They'll have time when they can reduce manufacturing costs. Does it even need explaining what ought to happen when a system that's selling almost as well as its half cheaper main competitor gets its price dropped... $299/299€ should be very good for sales, not to mention $199/199€ when they get there in a couple of years.
Do you want games or a price cut? MS drastically cut the 360 price last year and look at their 2009 lineup. The PS3 sales are equal to the 360 sales at twice the price.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.
