Seriously; I think almost every self-respected gamer does that, I myself can't play on anything but the hardest as it just seems an injustice

Agreed. How could you not have played the awesomeness that was PS1. You missed Crash Bandicoot (when it was great), the start of Gran Turismo, and more.

I highly doubt you can beat Ninja Gaiden 1+2 on NES without using a continue or dying. There are far greater gamers than you. Also, you started at 1989 which you failed to probably play Atari 2600. Go play F-Zero GX on hardest difficulty and then get back to me.  Also, like many people have already stated since you skipped the N64/PS1/Saturn era you are definitely not the greatest gamer.
