Forums - General - Top 3 Films Of All Time

Mine are pretty mainstream and obvious. But it's true.

1. Empire Strikes Back

2. The Matrix

3. The Fellowship of The Ring

And 4 would be : The Crow

5. Edward Scissorhands.

Three films?

1. Citizen Kane
2. 8 1/2
3. 2001: A Space Odyssey

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Man with a movie camera definitely deserves a place.

Beyond that I have no idea, I'd need to look into it further. Too many great films really.

1) Battlefield Earth

2) Plan 9 From Outer Space

3) The Neverending Story Part 3

I can't be bothered to narrow it down, so I'm just gonna name 3 films which I really enjoyed.

- Oh Brother Where Art Thou (surreal rendition of Homer's Odysey)

- Shaun of the Dead (imo the funniest film of all time... Billy Madison is terrible btw )

- A Scanner Darkly (insanely cool art style)

Billy Madison terrible? Okay your obviously under a lot of stress. Don't worry, I'll pretend you didn't say that.

Shaun of the dead is funny though. Never heard of A scanner darkly.

Rented it for £2.50 and was not impressed, predictable slapstick is not a good genre. However I have talked to people who like it, so it might just be me being a comedy snob.

That's a really harsh insult to put Plan 9 in that crap sandwich.

Point taken.  Replace Plan 9 with Manos: The Hands of Fate or whatever you think belongs.
