Yes but when the diffrerence is JUST a few thousands it's sure it makes a difference

we are not talking about huge difference in sales between the 2 RE5 aren't we?

and when a game like cod is based in online play is again logic to not be pirated because of the live bannings

of course the minority is pirating but again is impossible to deny the fact that is logic to lose sales because of piracy

i just mention it because here always people comparing software sales when piracy exists only in xbox and wii.

Again, we are talking sales, not how many people played the game or if sales were lost some how. Maybe more PS3 owners rented the game than X360 owners pirated the game. Or maybe more PS3 owners borrow games from friends. If the X360 and Wii fans can't take it that the PS3 is outselling it because they effectivly countered piracy, that isn't my problem or the problem of the thread creator.

So is your argument that Xbox360 is a better platform for Capcom because their games gets to be played by more people due to pirate copies ?

maybe the biger install base of the xbox makes up for the piracy in the end

i never knew that u can pirate on the wii and 360 thought it was only psp i doubt that the mass population who own a wi and 360 know about it either and even if they did i doubt there actaully doing it how hard is it to pirate games for the wii and 360? i dont think the mass population can tackle this feat.

the reason y i made the thread was not for comparing or being a fanboy it was b/c it looks like the ps3 version will indeed be the victor and back in Jan and Feb 99% on the site didnt think so

Not buying it one bit.....even if piracy was that widespread (it usually is not outside of pc) than the ps3 sales are even more "impressive". Again most of us here are used to seeing the 360 outsell the ps3 2:1 in the U.S. and now it is reversed to 1:1.5 in favor of the ps3. So it is not like the 360 sales went down, it is more like the ps3 sales have gone up significantly over the last 7 to 8 months.

Actually, there is piracy on the PS3 already. I'm not sure why so many people think there is not. It's not common because it hasn't been possible for very long, sure, but console piracy in general isn't common.

That aside, there's basiclly no evidence whatsoever that piracy has an effect on sales.  People who pirate simply don't have or won't spend the money with or without piracy as an option.  Eliminate piracy altogether and you won't even notice the difference in sales, because it will simply be too small.

The big thing to take away from this is that after the initial JP lead by the PS3 (some 244,000 units), the X360 version has won every single Worldwide week since then. This is telling of where the game may go in the future.

The only down side is that it looks like the difference has been decreasing, not increasing...I wonder if the 360 will maintain it's week-to-week lead. If it can manage a few more weeks with positive gains, I think it's definately possible.

Another big question is: Will NPD force a revision? If so, in which direction?

Looks like its going to. What about that PSP coming in third overall last week and the PS3 coming within 5,900 of beating the 360 last week despite the fact that it costs twice as much (and with no big new games being released on any of the platforms).
