I need a laptop while at university and have to choose between Mac or PC.  Right now I have an old Pentium4 system, and the only apps I really run is iTunes, Firefox, Photoshop Elements, and Corel VideoStudio 12.

I'm thinking the Mac with iLife would really provide everything I need in one tight package without having to worry about Windows crapping out like it does on my old PC.

Anyone eles had to choose between the two?  What did you decide.

Oh, and my grandma will buy it for me up to $2000 so no worry on price!

if money was no object, then sure, mac all the way. You can still dual boot into windows if you wanted to, so a mac gives you the best of both worlds.

If money WAS a factor, then I'd get a cheapo PC.

Get a Macbook, I have never used anything other than a Mac for myself (my dad gets good deals) so I can't say they are better, but I'm happy with mine, as I do lots of animation/editing stuff.

Both if you have the money.
