I think the NPD data will show what is has been showing every month. The 360 will sell between 300 and 400K and the PS3 will be just above 200K.

No it's the recession + no Nintendo 1st party games release in March. Last year we had Brawl this year we have nothing.

Usually these type of small fluctation are notiong but small fluctuations, perhaps more people who are having a bday this week want a PS3 more over a 360 than other weeks..

However sometimes there is an underlying shift in momentum taking place which could be caused by many things and could have implications for the buying habits for the rest of the year.. When the PS3 gets it's pricecut, we'll see a major shift in momentum almost instanly.

What he is saying is true though, 360 kicked PS3's butt last NPD so why would they be so close all of a sudden?

Either its been undertracked or there are supply issues. Sales don't just drop off like that.

It's expected for the Wii sales to dip a little.
The Wii is moving from a console that was out of stock most of the time to a console that most retailers have on their shelves these days.

The fact that one product is rarely seen on shelves tends to push people to buy it when they finally see it so probably more than a few customers made Wii purchase on the spot that they probably would have made later in the year.
So I'm kinda expecting the Wii to average around 130-170k mark in the next months in NA instead of the 200k+ we got used to....
