Gran Turismo “to continue on as many platforms as possible,” PC gamers have large party

SCEA marketing head John Koller has dropped a heavy hint that Gran Turismo’s future may not be limited to just PSP and PS3.

“[Polyphony Digital] report directly into our CEO, Kaz Hirai, so it’s a little bit of a ‘wait and see’,” the exec told VG247 when asked when we can expect to see GT5.

“But we look for that franchise to continue on as many platforms as possible.”

Koller said in the same interview, recorded at GDC, that Sony is currently looking at “GT5 across all platforms, just to see what makes the most sense.”

PC gamers may do well to get excited by the talk. Polyhony head Kazunori Yamauchi’s already said that “perhaps [GT5] comes to the PC,” talking specifically of a Chinese launch.

It doesn’t take the hugest leap of logic to guess Koller may be talking about a PC SKU here.

E3, kids.

PC is perfect for a game like Gran Turismo.

I doubt Sony would make a big announcement like that at E3, as this would be one that hurts the PS3 more then anything.

I don't see much point in a PC version.

4 ≈ One

I guess GT5 wont be a "PS3 exclusive" then? to most people

It will be to me.

i'll take a bet, PERMABANNED IF gt5 releases releases on pc

You should be beaten, burned to ashes then someone should throw your ashes from a plane

agh, no PC please!

oh Shio you never dissopoint

US, January 10, 2002 - We've seen a couple of posts on this already so we thought we'd clear things up a bit. A short time ago, in an interview Kazunori Yamauchi stated that he would like to bring Gran Turismo 3 to the PC to "reach a higher audience." His comments weren't meant to imply that the game is coming to PC -- just that it would have a sizable audience if it did. Our contacts at Sony have categorically denied that there's any truth to the rumor so it looks like, for now, PC gamers will have to get their racing fix elsewhere.

Did not happen 7 years ago, Sony going to make sure it does not happen now. The biggest mindfuck if that people are questioning PS3 exclusivity after prologue released on it over a year ago, a little late when it comes to speculation.

Shio yeah PC is great I have a high end one myslef but get yourself out of kuku land and stop posting the same interview which has been posted a couple million times before. *rolleyes*

Gotta laugh at Yamauchi though, is he one of those people who does not know anything about his own company? :/

i doubt sony will do that lol

they are just trying to get people talking about gt5 again because the hype/talking about the game has died down

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Yamauchi said that over a year ago, sadly poor fella was probably mistranslated and we got ourselves a case of chinese whissers on the internet. Then Koller says he wants the franchise to continue on as many platform of possible, somehow causing people to enter a form of retardation where they completely ignore the PSP.

Baffling stuff
