The site I linked contains all the info needed to get your home PC back on the internet and a file to download that should remove the virus from your PC.

As I said the format reinstall is usually done when you don't know what else to do.

@Xxain, why would they call Time Warner?

They said it wasn't a virus??, right

How would your ISP know if your PC has a virus, hardware problem, windows problem, driver problem, etc.  Calling your ISP is not very helpful because they are trained to figure out if they internet connection to your house is fine, after that its not their problem anymore.

@NFG, if can prove that you have the April fools virus (or whatever its called), follow the instructions in my link.  If that doesn't fix the problem, either format reinstall or get someone who is more technically enclined to find the problem.  Without a good description of your problem, its difficult to give the correct advice.  (i.e. is there a driver problem? can you ping your router?  Does safe mode with networking work? etc.)

A USB key, floppy disk, CD-R, SD card or any other data medium.  If you read the link I sent, there are instructions on how to get your PC access to the internet and download it from your PC.  Like I said, there is no guarantee this is the problem because you haven't provided a lot of symptoms.

Well they should be able to figure out if the PC is capable of getting an IP address, pinging their router, pinging an internet IP address (no URL) or some other things before just blindly calling tech support.  Calling with no idea will often end in frustration and confusion.

And it wouldn't hurt to download and run the Conficker Worm remover and running it on the PC.

I told you the only symptoms though.

Large...IT IS NOT A FUCKIN VIRUS, THEY HAD SOMEBODY CHECK IT!!!.....did you hook the new router up???

Maybe I missed them, but all I saw while going through this thread was unable to access the internet, even after getting the modem replaced.  Was there more in there missing, like pinging, IP addresses, driver problems, etc.?
