Yeah, it's really hard. I've always sucked at it, personally. Still fun though, and think the beatmania games have the best music of all the Bemani games.

It's kinda like a platformer.. all the obstacles were created on the beat of the music and came at you... You had to press the right buttons to get over the obstacles.. Best part was that you could take out the PS1 disc and put in your own music CD generating new levels...

Definitely Elite Beat Agents--what other game allows you to help a retired rookie-of-the-year baseball star save a wild kid from the clutches of an 200-foot firebreathing golem--at an amusement park?!?!?

Vib Ribbon is extremely weird by any standards. I can't see the video in question, but I am going to assume it is actual gameplay. The various shapes and squiggles on the ground correspond to buttons you need to press in order to get it right. You can also evolve by getting streaks of them right. I remember a toad, a rabbit, a princess, and I know there is something else but I forget what. The princess is the best one to be. I'd say the game needs a sequel, but I think the creator died of a massive drug over-dose. I have no evidence that he is dead, but common sense kinda dictates it after watching the game in action.

It was not. It is an import only game sadly.
Edit: I am wrong apparently. There was a Pal version it seems. I am 90% certain there was never a US release though, as my friends who had it required a modded PS1 to play it on. I wonder why they had the Japanese version now though.

Yup I have the PAL version... I don't think there was a US version.

My vote goes to Guitar Hero/Rock Band(same game really) followed by Audiosurf.
I never really found Elite Beat Agents nearly as gripping as it's original Japanese version Ouendan was.
